This summer, despite the mask mandate and social distancing rules, Familangues lit up the streets with its traveling theater, the Kamishibai on wheels. From July 13 to July 17, we held our Kamishibike Tour alongside the Jalmik association and their Art’Découv’ Caravan Tour ! This project captivated the minds and awakened the senses of our participants, offering them an immersive experience where language diversity was key. At 16 Eden street, residents of the Spach district helped our team set up language awareness workshops in German, Greek, Armenian, Turkish, Spanish, Polish and Kurdish, all in a festive, warm and musical atmosphere !
The Kamishibike, much more than just a bicycle, has quickly become a symbol of linguistic exploration and plurilingualism. Its main objective is to celebrate the world’s languages through multilingual storytelling, and shining a light on the lesser known ones. Each story is an invitation to travel, taking spectators on a journey through foreign words and sounds. At the heart of this initiative is a burning desire to promote the linguistic and cultural richness of our society. Familangues has harnessed the power of storytelling to promote mutual understanding and respect for diversity.
We’d like to thank everyone who took part in the Kamishibike Tour, and hope to see you all again next year !
