At Familangues, we’re eager to celebrate International Mother Language Day because it perfectly embodies the fundamental values that drive us. First of all, it highlights the importance and richness of mother tongues, which are much more than simple communication tools. They reflect our identity, our culture and our history. Preserving, promoting and celebrating them is essential to ensuring the diversity and richness of our cultural heritage.
What’s more, International Mother Language Day is the ideal opportunity to raise public awareness of the importance of plurilingualism and intercultural exchange. By encouraging respect and appreciation of all languages, this special day helps strengthen social cohesion and promote inclusivity, by recognizing the value of every foreign language.
Finally, this day reminds us of the importance of language and access to quality education for all. By ensuring that everyone has access to education and practicing their mother tongue, we promote personal development, empowerment and equal opportunities.
This year, despite the challenges imposed by the current health context, our team has ramped up its efforts to bring you a memorable International Mother Language Day, in a revamped format that fits the situation! We are proud to present our short film, produced in a record time of 3 weeks by our dedicated team (the short film is in French, so if you understand the language, we invite you to enjoy it). This project reflects our commitment to promoting language and cultural diversity, even in the most challenging of circumstances.
We invite you to view and share this short film with your social circle, and to leave us your valuable comments and reactions. Your participation is essential to help us continue to enrich our work and promote the importance of mother tongues. The Familangues team thanks you !
